Dell has been fined $10 million for falsely advertising discount prices on computer monitors that were bundled with other products. Rather than making savings, the ACCC found that customers were in fact paying more than if they'd bought the computer monitors separately.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) said:
“This outcome sends a strong message to businesses that making false representations about prices or inflating discounts is a serious breach of consumer law and will attract substantial penalties”.
