David Johnson

David Johnson is a solicitor and compliance professional with more than 25 years of experience in Consumer Law, product safety and regulatory compliance across Australia and New Zealand.


He has previously held senior legal roles with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) and the Australian Government Solicitor, where he provided strategic legal advice, managed litigation, and represented the ACCC in Federal Court proceedings. David also served on the ACCC’s Product Safety Consultative Committee, contributing to national product safety and consumer protection strategy.


David specialises in:

Michelle Johnson

Michelle Johnson is a Sydney-based solicitor known for her practical, commercially focused approach and ability to embed sustainable and ethical compliance practices into day-to-day business operations. 


As Co-Founder and Director of Watchdog Compliance, Michelle works closely with businesses to design and implement practical compliance frameworks that align with legal obligations, operational requirements and broader ESG and ethical sourcing expectations. She advises organisations across a wide range of regulatory areas, including privacy compliance, data breach management, Consumer Law, marketing and advertising claims, product safety, modern slavery reporting, illegal logging obligations, green claims and broader sustainability compliance.


She has held senior roles across both government and consultancy. Her expertise spans policy drafting, risk frameworks, supplier audits, ESG strategies, ethical sourcing programs and tailored compliance training.


Michelle is admitted as a Solicitor and holds multiple degrees from the Australian National University, including a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Graduate Diploma in Public Law
